Campora Rentals

Rental terms & policies

Plain-language operating terms for Campora Sierra. Final terms are presented again before checkout.

Driver approval

Renters must be 21 or older and provide full contact information, a valid driver’s license, and proof of applicable automobile insurance. The primary driver must be approved. An additional driver may be requested and must submit the same documentation; the default fee is $25 per trip.

Travel and road use

California and other U.S. state travel is allowed. Maintained dirt and campground access roads are allowed. Mexico, international travel, technical off-roading, off-road trails, racing, towing, festivals, smoking and vaping are prohibited. Driving to legal beach campgrounds is allowed; driving on sand is not unless specifically approved and legal.

Mileage and fuel

Each rental day includes 125 miles. Additional mileage is $0.50 per mile. Sierra leaves with a full tank and must return full. Campora may charge documented refueling costs if it returns below the original level.

Pickup and return

Standard pickup in San Jose is at 3:00 PM or later and standard return is 11:00 AM. Early Pickup is $50 when scheduling allows and is never guaranteed. A 30-minute return grace period applies; after that, the fee is $25 per additional 30 minutes, capped at one applicable nightly rate.

Delivery

Standard San Jose pickup and delivery are free. Outside San Jose, delivery is calculated from the Campora pickup base at the configured rate, currently $2 per mile with a $35 minimum. The exact fee is shown before a request is submitted.

Pets and cleaning

Pets are welcome with a $50 trip fee, and seat protection is provided. Extraordinary cleaning for pet hair, stains, odor or damage may result in additional documented charges.

Cancellation and rescheduling

More than 24 hours before pickup, choose a refund minus a $35 administrative fee or one complimentary reschedule, subject to availability, within 90 days. Any price difference applies. Less than 24 hours before pickup, the reservation is non-refundable.

Tolls, tickets and loss

Tolls and traffic citations remain the guest’s responsibility. Campora provides documentation before charging amounts received after a trip. Lost keys or equipment are charged at actual replacement cost.

Damage and security authorization

A $500 refundable card authorization is required before pickup and is separate from rental revenue. It may be applied to verified damage where appropriate. Costs beyond the authorization require Campora review, documentation and a separate invoice; arbitrary damage charges are not automatic.

Request and payment

A booking request is not confirmed until Campora reviews the driver’s license, insurance and trip details. Declined requests are not charged. Approved requests are charged the rental amount; the security authorization is handled separately near pickup.
